About Natasha Dupuy, French to English Translator

I have dual French and Australian nationality and two mother tongues: French and English. I completed most of my schooling in French in New Caledonia, and the rest in English in Australia.

I have lived in 6 English- and/or French-speaking countries around the world, I have travelled extensively, and have worked in Australia, London in the United Kingdom, and Montreal in Canada. All of these experiences have contributed to my sound knowledge of the cultural differences that exist from one English-speaking country to the next.

I also bring over 10 years of work experience to my translation work, in fields such as medical administration, banking, and Internet and telecommunications.

Though I have always been bilingual, I discovered that I deeply love the English language, especially in its written form, and my rather unusual career path one day led me to translation. According to my clients, from my very first tentative steps in the business over 5 years ago, I very quickly demonstrated a special talent for writing dynamic and punchy marketing texts that were faithful to the original.

I'm a great believer in using "Plain English" -- in other words clear and effective communication that achieves its purpose and reaches its target. I believe that for communication to be effective, it has to hold the reader's attention and, above all, be understood.
